I doubt by now you need an introduction to who is Jerome Ratliff.
However, if you haven’t yet, this is me in the picture to the left. You can read more about me in “About“.
Now, I want to be upfront and straightforward with you. I am not an egotistical, self-centered person only concerned about me and my success.
That’s not why I’m writing about me.
Quite the contrary.
I’m writing about a journey, a discovery you may presently been pondering or experiencing at this very moment.
You see, majority of my adult life I’ve been on this mission. This mission has been to improve myself and help the many lives I come in direct contact with.
So, why am I writing about this character Jerome Ratliff?
There are times in our lives where we all need to decide to make a change. As scary as that may sound, it’s one we must come to realization with.
That was me, Jerome Ratliff.
The frame of mind I came from was all centered around my little world. I constantly played the victim game where I thought everything was out to get me.
I felt like there was no such thing as succeeding in life.
Then in my early adult life, I experienced a life changing event. I saw for the first time how my parents where struggling financially and the stress they were experiencing.
It nearly broke my heart and at the same time it made me so angry. “How dare they do this to themselves?”
Then I realized something…
Something so profound that change my whole perception on life.
I understood what brought them to this current place was based on decisions made over a period of time.
There was no particular situation that made the difference. It was a combination of ALL of them.
From this moment on, I stopped judging my parents because what they currently were experiencing wasn’t their fault. They had no idea this was going to be the end result.
They were just enjoying their lives and allowing their children to do the samething.
So I made a decision. If I wanted to have great things and change people’s lives then I needed to start today.
And start doing it a little at a time.
I set out to find my purpose and focus on my desires. It was not an easy process.
You have to remember, most of my life I had all of these disempowering beliefs that I suddenly had to eliminate.
It’s like a smoker going cold turkey. (Suddenly quitting from that moment on and never turning back.)
My mind was so clouded with garbage that I needed to figure out how to throw all of it into the dumpster.
I began with focusing on my thoughts and my mind. I kid you not, I read so many self-help books, audios, courses from affirmations to the psychology of the mind.
Soon I found myself with knowing a little from a lot.
How I Conquered My Mind…
If I were to conquer this, I needed to have more.
Remember I understood that every small puzzle piece I got was building my puzzle.
So stopping was not even an option.
I took in so much more. Anytime I could get my hands on something that would inch me forward, I dove right into it.
Sometimes I laugh at this, because I’ve taken in so much you’d think I had a degree in psychology.
It didn’t matter what I thought though. All that mattered is if I were to conquer my own thoughts and mind to switch it for the better, then I’d know with no doubt I would be more fulfilled.
Was I?
I can’t say that puzzle is complete, but I can say is that I have thousands of the puzzle pieces put together and I’m nearly finish.
Will the puzzle ever be complete?
No, it won’t! Because there is so much more to learn I may only have half of it. And that’s ok. We can’t be expected to know everything.
The one thing we do need to know is where we would like to be. For me that was being fulfilled by serving my purpose.
I am glad to say that I am doing this and I’m enjoying and grateful for every minute of it.
But, now it was time to put what I had learned to action into my business.
When I think of my home business, where I’m bringing in new clients and new business partners, literally changing their lives, I put everything I learned into perspective.
The little things, which some will think of as insignificant, are really giving you the slight edge to the great things we are about to experience.
Think about training your team. Do you think your team is going to click after one training call or session and suddenly be your top performer?
I think not!
It most likely will take numerous training sessions. But each and every one of those training sessions will move your team forward one step at a time.
As their mind is getting prepared for what they need to do, they’ll soon experience what I had and that was, little things do matter.
Our minds are such a storehouse of great things, but if we don’t tap into those little gems that hits us every know and then, then what good are we.
So I challenge you, find your purpose. Get into your mind and discover what is it you’d like to do.
How are you fulfilling your purpose? What does your mind look like?

Hey Jerome,
Knowing your purpose is most likely where most individuals gets stuck. When I chat with new business owners, a lot of the time they say their purpose is to make money.
Well, that isn’t enough. Because I can simply give them $1000 and still not be satisfied. When you have a clear picture of your purpose. Nothing…I mean Nothing can shake you. Awesome Post!
Chat with you later…

Hey Jerome,
Great way to get your point across. Stories help lots and lots of people to better understand something than if it was just explained.
If you don’t have a purpose or that burning desire, you will faulter sooner or later.
Good read,

Hey Jerome,
This was beautiful! Thanks for giving us a little insight.
I know I can definitely relate — I grew up in a bad neighborhood, had friends in gangs, parents were never stable financially, etc.
But I’ve worked on my mind, on my thoughts — I’ve worked to improve myself…
And I’m pretty happy with how far I’ve come.
It’s good to see you’re giving it your best and doing so well.

You know I find, the more I work on myself, apply it in my life, share it, the stronger I become.
I never knew this, except for sports. But it is true for life in general too.. Thanks for the compliment BTW.

Hey Jerome,
It’s that commitment to personal development isn’t it? To earn more, You first need to become more.
“The Slight Edge” is one of those books that I read and re-read because it reminds me that success is built one step at a time. One step at a time.
Have a great day,

Hey Jerome,
Great post man, figuring out your purpose in life is a massive step.
It’s been said many times but it still holds true – “Its not about the destination, it’s the journey that matters”

Improve on yourself 1% a day and in a year you will be 365% better.
Becoming the change that I wanted to see was a massive driving force in my life.
I wanted so many things, so I formulated plans on how to get them. I then stay focused on the plan until I get it. Then on to the next one.
My main purpose is to generate a foundation of knowledge and assets which will last for many generations when I am long gone.
That drives me everyday.

Love that Dwayne.
Just that little bit each day amounts to a huge change. How hard is it to improve by 1% each day? Not much!
