For all the new school network marketers who understand attraction marketing, the common question is, “How and when do I market my business opportunity?”
Since you already understand the principles of attraction marketing (if not learn how here) the who purpose is to provide essential information to attract your ideal prospect.
At this point, you have to give your prospect the opportunity to find out about what it is you do.
Let’s say you have a blog where you are providing content about how to advance in network marketing.
What you would do is make references to your business opportunity.
Here’s how we do it at Maverick Business Builders…
1. On your blog, have an image that links over to a page where your prospect can request to be contacted.
2. Within your auto-responder, you can include call to actions such as, “Want to join the Top Producers in the industry” or “Want to be the next success story”.
Whatever you choose, a web page or contact information, it doesn’t matter.
All that matters is that you have done this.
In order for these two to effectively work for you, you must be the one that has something to offer to your prospect by increasing your value.
If you don’t, they aren’t going to reach out to you. This is where the blog comes in handy.
With the blog you can share valuable content that will attract your ideal prospects. I say valuable, as anyone can have a blog.
But when you have a blog that shows others how they can be successful in this business, they will be drawn to you.
That is the “how” piece.
As far as the “when” piece goes, there are also two methods.
1. Again, through the use of your blog you can have a dedicated page someone can hop on over to at anytime after they have found what you providing is what they want.
One thing you don’t want to do is blast posts about your business opportunity. This will draw people AWAY.
So the “when” on this one is when they feel ready.
2. Through the use of your auto-responder, after a period of time (not immediately of course) is when you present to your list an email that creates curiosity (using your copywriting skills) that will link over to a page where they can learn more about your business opportunity.
If you noticed, both of these “how” and “when” are very similar. The only difference between the two is timing.
Timing is critical.
Let’s say you have a list of prospects who has already received 20 or so emails from you in how to advance in their business.
What you would do is, on the 21st email you would create an eager want and desire by making reference to how you and your team is using all of the methods you have shared with them and if they want to see if they qualify to become a member, then do such and such.
I cannot express how important it is to take this approach.
We aren’t talking about a blast email dedicated to “I want you to join my business opportunity”.
This approach is much more subtle then that, but it hints to others if they want more of this, this is how they can go about getting more information.
So I encourage you to include these approaches in your process and I’m confident you’ll have great results and that you will start to truly live the “attraction marketing” model.

Hi Jerome,
thanks for sharing this interesting approach of attraction marketing. Thanks for sharing. I gained valuable insight. Indeed, we never know when the timing for a prospect is right. So don’t stop after the 20th email. Keep up your great work.
Take care
Oliver
Hi there Oliver,
And when you take this approach, it upholds your credibility.
Have a great day,

Hi Jerome,
Push too soon and you lose a prospect. Push too hard and the same thing happens.
The How and Why of marketing your business is learned in the lab of life; with a better knowledge of buyer psyche it’s easier to figure out these 2 elements.
Thanks for sharing your insight

Jerome I wish everyone marketing on facebook could read this (so do you I bet!) this is great advice on the very tricky subject of timing. Even though most of the time it is good to build a relationship first there will be times when we need to strike when the iron is hot. But it’s knowing that and doing it in a timely manner that counts.

I really appreciate this blog post! A lot of network marketers, especially the newbies, do not know when to market their business opportunity. This is a great strategy to implement. I’ll be sure to post this blog.

Hey Sherman,
It’s such an easy process to take too. All that it requires that you do exactly the opposite of those who are NOT having success.

Hey Jerome,
This is another example of the value you provide. Great topic, and wonderful information.
Knowing when and how to bring it up can be tricky. So glad you covered it.

Jerome,
This a good list and a must read.
Personally, I build a relationship with my list or any contacts
I’ve made and finally will bring it up.
I try to email my list as often as possible. I was told to treat them
like family, you see your family everyday, so if you are emailing your
list everyday, they will look forward to your next post.
If you keep this up and have built that trust, when you introduce your opportunity, it
will feel more natural to talk about it.

You nailed it buddy.
This is the best way – treat your list like family. Great point.

Hey Jerome,
What you said about timing is critically important. A prospect should be made to feel they will join you when they are ready, not when you want them to. Constant, helpful follow up is essential. I also like to talk to my prospects by phone if I can, to build a more personal relationship.
Live Large,
Wayne
You said it right Wayne.
You want them to sell themselves into wanting to be a part of the team.
Contacting them by phone is very important as well!
Have a great one,

Timing and subtlety are two very crucial factors to understand when it comes to promoting one’s primary opportunity Jerome and you have provided excellent guidelines on how to deal with both.

Hi Marcus,
It sure is crucial.
When you introduce these two factors, you become magnetic.

Part of the process requires patience; the patience to wait until the 21st email before even mentioning your opportunity.
This is the tough part for most people, especially if they are excited about what they do.
But that is the beauty of having a funnel system, you program that the patience into it.
Patience and determination is vital.
I know, it is tough to hold back, but if people do, they will draw in more people because it’s a natural, subtle approach that demonstrates your posture.
Jerome Ratliff
I Jerome,
I have been struggling with this concept for a while now.
Up until now I have been occasionally putting the link to my Opportunity under my signature, no pressure just a subtle nudge. Maybe too subtle.
21st email? Time to rework my ARS, again.

Mike

Hi there Milena,
Thanks, it’s an approach that very easy to follow too.
Also, I appreciate you sharing this out.

Hey Jerome,
I agree and disagree with you on this. I think it depends on your keywords and target market when looking at this online. If you are marketing to people actively looking for a business, then you should probably give them what they want early and often. On the other hand, if you are going at people in a round about way, then definately don’t try to shove your biz opp down their throats.
Good post,
Eric McMillan
That’s it right there Eric… “Going at people in a round about way”.
Definitely not the way to go.
Great P.O.V. Thanks for that…

Hi Jerome,
This is great advice! Personally, I have several lists (each with their own strategy)…
I have one that markets to Network Marketers (and I never ask them to join my primary, I just sell affiliate products to them).
I also have one where I’m going after people looking to join an MLM business (crazy, huh?) where I definitely let them know about my primary.
I even have one where I sell my company’s products as a way to get customers (I also let them know about the business).
This is a lot of work, but WELL worth it

All of these are great strategies. I apply this same approach to my business.
This way you speak directly to your target market for the various areas.
Great choice Derek. I agree with your approach 100%.
Jerome Ratliff
Jerome,
This is sound advice, I even have to do a better job at having this offer available to my readers.
It is important to remember that many readers are looking for an opportunity.
They are just trying to decide if you are the right fit for them and if your offer isn’t there, you are losing out.
Thanks for the reminder my friend.

Yes, and if you can show them this may be one option for them, then they might even qualify.
You just never know unless you put it out there. Plus, this is really an easy way to put it out there that is not aggressive, but instead effective.
Have a great weekend Tommy,
