Blog Secret: Overcome Writer’s Block

Overcome writer's blockWhere to begin…or am I experiencing writer’s block at this given moment? Have you ever been at this point before and not sure what to say or write about?

Knowing what to write about happens to the best of us, but getting over it is a whole other problem. Or, is it?

Would you like to uncover the secret that is within you to eliminate your writer’s block so you can write blog post after blog post with the ease?

I discovered this big blog secret some time ago when I was having a hard time coming up with what I wanted to write about. All I could think about was, I knew my audience and what they were looking for from a content perspective. But, that wasn’t helping me figure out what to write about or did I discover something?

Then it occurred to me, what if I just start jotting down some topics on paper and see what I can come up. I’m either going to come up with nothing or my idea. What did I have to lose?

That was it! All I needed to do to overcome this was to just start writing about whatever came to my mind and the topic would appear to me – BINGO! It worked, because I soon figured out what I wanted to write about. Writing beyond this was so easy. I was amazed, but nonetheless it was working.

What I had to do to overcome this writer’s block was to begin writing. I was dumbfounded by the results.

Seems too good to be true doesn’t it??? I know, I thought the same thing. Well, it’s not.

Even if you write down, “I don’t know what to write about” it will come to you. It will set your mind in motion of writing and before you know it, you will come up with something.

And to keep that flow going, all you need to do is keep on writing. Keep on writing even if it doesn’t make sense. Don’t worry so much as to what you wrote about because you can always come back later and fix the mistakes or add in more if you’d like.

When you’re done, you’ll be so mesmerized that it will hit you like a ton of bricks. You will overcome writer’s block!

Have you ever experienced writer’s block within your blog or articles you frequently write? We want to hear from you, so share your experience.

Hi Jerome, I have been a full time freelance writer for over 2 years now. But despite the length of my experience, I still encounter having writer’s block, that moment when nothing is just springing up the alley for writing. But I agree with you, to overcome writer’s block you just need to start writing. Often I think that what I write should be perfect right away, that all thoughts should be concise right away. But I guess it doesn’t work that way. And I do just that like what you mentioned in your article. I just write and then edit along the way.
