As I was having my morning Rev3, my son as usual asked, “I want some of that.”
Being an energy drink and all, and since he’s only 3 yrs old, I had to gracefully tell him, “No, I’m sorry.”
I thought to myself though, “Why does this kid want this so bad?”
As the ideas began rushing through my head, I realized what it was.
1. Awareness > Since my son sees it everyday, he knows what it is and that he’s never had it.
2. It’s irresistible > This is like the dangling carrot analogy. It’s within arms reach, but he just can’t have it and all he can do is crave it.
3. What are it’s benefits > With all the energy I get from it, he wants the same thing, this way he would never have to go to bed. LOL
Here’s a Great Business Building Tip:
With your product or your offer, how irresistible are you making it for your prospects?
Do they know what it is? What it does? Or, how they can have it?
I recently came across this excellent post that puts this into perspective for you. Check it out when you have a minute.
Two Questions to Make Your Product Irresistible
“Managing the symbols and associations your customers have with your product or service is an art. Be strategic about it and you can wire a web in their brains that captures their interest and gives them warm feelings that makes them want more.”
Just like anything else, the minute you know how to make your product irresistible, now it’s time to get out there and put what you learned to use.
Really try this out and see what your results are.
Look, I started off just by doing this at home.
Since then, we been taking this same exact approach to the market and more people are beginning to ask and buy.
Yes, it’s not fast results, but taking this approach will give you the awareness it needs.
The more awareness you can bring to it, you will soon experience the “word of mouth marketing” instantly working for you.
This is using leverage at its best.

Hi Jerome,
I can only imagine a 3 yr old taking a Rev3
Tapping into the “Why” of your customer’s wants makes your product irresistible. My experience has been that when I tap into the emotions of my target audience by putting positive energy into my copy/content, they respond favorably. When I didn’t know how to do so, they didn’t respond at all.
Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend!

Hey Jerome
I would also suggest your son wants it because you are his hero (attraction marketing).
One of the way marketers make their products irresitable is to show people their fancy cars and houses. “Do this and you can have what I have”

Copywriting is an art form I think. You can be told over and over how to write a good copy, but for me it’s still a challenge.
Of course, I also know that I never really gave it a good chance – I keep telling myself that I simply don’t have time for it.
Yet, what is traffic without good conversion in place? A simple waste of time.
I am putting copywriting on my to-do list!
Thanks, Jerome.

Hi Ana,
Copywriting is one of those things that can have a profound affect.
I’m still in the process of learning more about it as I recently picked up the Copywriters Guild and Recruit With Words products.
It’s really shed some light on what I wasn’t aware of and has helped me get better with my copy.
Have a good day,

Hi Jerome,
Piquing interest, curiosity works. Recently our oldest son, having absolutely no interest in my business (don’t approach me attitude) asked me, “Mom, how customizable are those cards you create?”
He’s seen them around the house because I always send a copy to myself. Now he asked me for a Gift Account so he can play around with the features.
So I can totally relate to the story of your 3 year old son. Those 3 points are spot on.
Thank for sharing your story!

Hey Jerome,
You must be in the marketing zone when you can get ideas from the things around you
It’s funny because we start to see things that were always there, but start to see them in a different light.
A take off on Peter’s comment.. people want what others have.
Take care,
Neil
Hi Neil,
Isn’t it great how this all works out. This is when our subconscious meets our conscious, which is extremely powerful.

Hi Jerome,
amazing that our kids are all the same, regardless if they’re 3, 6 or 10 years. They tend to imitate what we’re doing and they think – rightfully so – that this might also good for them. So if we are good role models for our customers and really use the products we sell and are able to give good and credible testimonials, we might be able to increase our sales.
Thanks for sharing your ideas.
Take care

Jerome I could use a Rev3 right now myself.
The thought I came away with after reading the article was one of the power of association.
What do people associate with you and is it favorable? Are you their France or some obscure place they would never visit?
Working on making that kind of impression could do wonders for you business.

Hi Jerome,
What a great story! Very good points.
I also like what Peter said… you are his hero… that can also be applied to business. Not so much a hero, but if you are looked up to, respected, people will become even more attracted and desire what you have.
Thanks for another great post!

Hi Jerome
my experience is that many people do not truly want to change their situation – ill health or poor finances. Ill health gives them something to talk about (strange, that one) And of course most don’t believe they are worthy of success and riches.
So first I want to find out what they truly want and then maybe I can target what I have to their real need and that makes my product irresistible.

Great post Jerome…I have an 8 and 10 year old and can definitely relate! What’s funny though is that even they are starting to see that quality wins out in the end. Though they are initially enticed by the “must have” item, I find that they are starting to think more and more about the long term benefits (e.g. “will this toy break in 2 days?”) than their immediate desires.
Hi Karen,
That’s something. I really look forward to that with my kids as right now, as you can imagine, they barely understand that concept.
I agree with you about quality. I remember, I was about 12 when I finally figured that one out.

Hey Jerome,
Great post, I can totally relate, while I do not have children, there are times that I have something when I am around a bunch of people. While I had a “job” there were many times that the lunch I had was smelling so good and looked scrumptious and people were attracted to it. Then a few minutes later that resturaunt company was on tv promoting their product and then they went and got the same lunch. Everything we do has some type of marketing swing on it, whether we realize it or not.

Hey Jerome – this post is too cool! Out of the mouths of babes comes the truth (as always)! When something seems irresistible its human nature to want more and more of it. I always hear people talking about making your business have a sense of urgency, but this “urgency” can be induced by us, however our prospects see the urgency as something they can’t live without.
