If you know anything about John Maxwell then you fully understand how powerful this man is when it comes to being a leader.
And what we can learn from John and apply in our home business is the posture and reason for being a leader if you truly want to be successful.
Being successful for those who have reached this pinnacle realize that early on that they have to make a decision.
What makes leaders even more powerful is that they realize that all the decisions that makes up a successful leader is something they have to live their life by.
If it is success that you are after then you will be expected to manage these for the rest of your life.
John Maxwell does a fantastic job in explaining this in a public speaking arrangement where he speaks to the keys of leadership.
If you haven’t heard or seen John speak, you are in for a treat.
You see, when we talk about leadership most just think of these values and characteristics as something what we must have.
What’s more important is not just having these but sticking to them.
And no matter what challenges are thrown your way, it is your duty (if you intend be a successful leader) to live up to them.
Here in this video John Maxwell cracks the leadership code.
See if you can pick up the key things you DO NOT see yourself doing and start implementing.

Hey Jerome,
You know I subscribe to his monthly leadership CD and it is so worth it. I can’t wait to read his latest book that just came out.
If anyone takes the time to study what he teaches. Their life will not be the same after 6 months. They will walk, talk, and look different.
Great video and post!

Hi Jerome,
Great video! Kind of a shocker that attitude isn’t everything. I thought it was.
Well, to me personally, it’s still the most important leadership quality. Because with the right attitude you can accomplish anything.
Gotta go and write down my daily dozen
Have a great day!

Hi there Ilka,
I know, John Maxwell looks attitude a little bit differently then others. I remember when I heard that a long time ago, I was kind of shocked until he spoke of the reason why.

Hi Jerome,
I just tried to submit a comment and not sure whether it was successful so sending another. Please feel free to delete one.
I really enjoyed this so thank you for sharing with us.
I like what he says about “Take Care Of Today”. This is a simple yet profound truth to live by. It makes me think of another saying I use, “Manage your efforts not your results” which means pretty much the same thing.
Cheers

Me too Marcus. “Take care of today” is often forgotten by a lot of us at times.
I like your saying too. Very cool and of course, original.

Hey Jerome,
The thing I’ve learned that has helped me stick to my values and core characteristics is to come from a place of service…
This is the only thing that has allowed me to overcome my shyness and speak to a room full of people or on a webinar, etc…
I go in thinking, “How can I help these people?”
This is also what I think of when I have difficult choices to make. I want to keep the respect and admiration of my wife, family, and friends because if I let them down — then I’ve let myself down.

Derek,
I can so relate to that message, “How can I help these people?” Really awesome!
This is my mission too when I’m working with people who I know want to change.
Good stuff. Chat with you later,

Really enjoyed the post. Maxwell is one of my favorites I first saw him about 15 years ago and have had the privilege of meeting him a few times. I had several autographed 1st edition books of his that I lost in Hurricane Katrina.
He was one of the main inspirations for me to get into student leadership.
One things that I am always reminded of when I watch him, is the importance of relating to people and making them feel like a million bucks.
I tend to get too task oriented sometimes and forget the relational aspect of it.

That is very cool that you had an opportunity to meet him. That would certainly be an experience you’ll never forget.

Jerome,
Right off the bat I love the statement that successful people make important decisions early in their lives and spend the rest of their lives managing them.
It goes to show you that success really is a CHOICE that is made. Sometimes consciously or unconsciously. But in the end it’s always a choice.

Hey Mark,
Thanks for swinging by…
Success is a choice. Some will WANT it, while others will be afraid of it. I preferred a long time ago to go for it.

Hey Jerome,
John Maxwell is synonymous with leadership. He has an uncanny ability to put it into very simple terms.
The very powerful message I got from that post is success is a habit. You have to make managing those decisions that you’ve made and everyday habit.
Thanks for the video,
