Do you sometimes like playing detective in hopes of finding enough clues to lead you to the answer? Sherlock Holmes is a perfect example of someone who was always looking for clues.
And, as he assembled the clues one piece at a time, he would ultimately figure out the answer. So, would you like to put your Sherlock Holmes hat on and learn about five sneaky ways to flourish on Facebook? Let’s get right into it, shall we.
Here are Five Sneaky Ways to Flourish on Facebook
- Be friendly and most importantly be yourself. When you are looking for people to network with, introduce yourself and let them know “what’s in it for them” and why you would like to add them to your network. When I’m looking for someone to add to my network or accepting someone’s friendship, I’m looking for the following; someone who has a profile picture (this tells me they are willing to share something about themselves), someone who is like-minded (don’t just add someone you feel you won’t connect with), someone that seems a go getter (you can tell who these people are when they are requesting your relationship and what they put in the personal message to you.)
- Update your status frequently (a few times a day). When you’re updating your status, be sure to share with people what you are doing. For example, when I’m reading a book or watching a movie, or something online, I put that in my status with a link to whatever I’m watching if it happens to be online. When making your statuses personal, this demonstrates the type of person you are and your search for like-minded people.
- Create videos that relate to your profession or personal life (no need to get too personal with your life, but enough that says this is me and this is what I do). When creating your videos and posting them to your Facebook profile, include a title and a brief description of what the video is about.
- Upload photos. Share your personal life photos like places you’ve visited or pictures of your family. In addition, post pictures that relate to your profession. By sharing your photos, you instantly create rapport with your network and it also illustrates you’re a real person and you’re not a phony.
- Customize your profile. Some of the examples I’ve included above like photos, your profile picture, and videos. However, be sure to also include your profile info like where you’re from, your website(s) (that’s an important one there), articles you’ve written (another important one for the business builders), books you’ve read (very important for business builders that need to show they are constantly increasing their value) and finally, your profession (list what it is you do and list a nice little benefit of the business).
Sneaky Bonus – Join groups or create your own group. Your target purpose, to attract prospects to you because of the value you provide.
With these methods of growing your presence on social media, what are some other ways you’ve utilized that has helped you?
